Biomethane is gaining ground in the energy transition
This is evident not only at industry conferences, but also in the development of infrastructure and the operations of Gaz-System.
The Biomethane Congress was held in Warsaw. It was strongly emphasised that “in view of the ever-growing global interest in biomethane, driven among other things largely by the current geopolitical situation – Russian aggression in Ukraine and the war in the Middle East – biomethane is also becoming a hot topic in Poland”.
Regulations and issues related to infrastructure development play a very important role in this process. This, in turn, was one of the main topics at the Gazterm conference, which was attended by our managing partner, Małgorzata Banasik.
– Processes related to ‘greening gas’ must also play a role in the decarbonisation process. Biomethane could be one of the key players in the fuel modification of gas-fired units after 2035. All the more so as new combined heat and power plants already have the technical capability to use decarbonised fuels. This requires a predictable and well-planned regulatory environment,” emphasises M. Banasik.
BWW Law Firm supports companies and local authorities in transformational changes in this area. It specialises in the comprehensive preparation and implementation of investments, not only in biogas projects but also in cogeneration projects and waste-to-energy and heat recovery facilities.
